Why Do You Do, What You Do?

One of the things I love most about my “day job” is the diversity of businesses I get to engage with and be part of.  One minute we are talking tractors, the next it’s about internet connectivity and innovation, and then throw in some algae!

While the topics might be different, the sentiment is the same – people are active in developing their interest and passions in their business.

So, whilst I don’t claim to know much about tractors, I can definitely appreciate the way in which the team engage in great customer service, go above and beyond to deliver, and have an honest and open relationship with clients along the way.  And their clients love them for it!

To work with people who are pushing the envelope constantly, always looking for the next trend or wave of innovation coming in their industry is contagious!  Being part of these conversations and then coming back into my own business to reflect on where I could be more innovative, use technology differently or stay just ahead of the next breaking wave keeps my business agile and my mind awake.

I truly love being part of the bigger rural Australian community.  I believe we have the answers to lots of today’s challenges, we just need to take the time to consider what they might be.  I do what I do because I want to be part of a community that is proud and profitable.  I keep this sentiment front and centre with all I do – both professionally in the clients and projects I engage with, and personally how I volunteer my time.

So, why do you do what you do?

·        Is it to create something unique and beautiful?

·        Is it to be part of something bigger and contribute?

·        Is it to get out of the house and be around people?
