Which Foods to Eat for Better Bone Health

Bone resorption is a condition in which the bones are absorbed and broken down by the human body. The disintegration of the bone minerals is due to the osteoclast cells, thus releasing phosphorus and calcium into your bloodstream. It leads to calcium deficiency in your diet. The disorders associated with the condition are osteoporosis, Paget’s disease, osteopetrosis, and osteolysis.

According to an article published on Huffington Post, osteoporotic bone is susceptible to fracture at the wrist, spine, and hip. When developing such conditions, it is not only important to consult a physician, but also eat the right foods to keep bone resorption under control. Women are affected more than men are, and therefore, they must include the right nutrients in their diet. Here are a few foods to eat if you have bone resorption.

Butter,
Cheese, and Grass-fed Beef

Eat these foods as they are high-fat items derived from
grass-fed cows. The foods are rich in Vitamin K12 and responsible for restoring
calcium to your bone instead of the bloodstream. If you take supplements, try
in moderation because too much of it will cling to your bloodstream. It may
lead to heart ailments. We are not suggesting that you eat too much cheese,
butter, or beef, but include it in your diet in the right proportion to keep
your bones healthy.

Dark
Chocolate

Eat dark chocolates if you have poor bone health and
suffering from bone resorption. Eat in moderation. It not
only satiates your sweet tooth but also rich in the essential mineral
magnesium. It is true that many food items have magnesium, especially processed
foods. Then, they are not a healthy eating option for you if you have poor bone
health. It is no use taking low levels of the mineral if you have brittle
bones. Besides dark chocolates, you must also eat legumes, nuts, and avocado to
consume enough of magnesium. However, always consult your doctor before taking
dark chocolate. Avoid taking it if you have allergic symptoms when eating
chocolates.

Tea

Tea is one of the popular beverages around the globe. Do you
know why? That is because it contains a lot of polyphenols and antioxidants.
You can drink as much as of this beverage as you want. Did you know that tea is
one of the healthiest beverages that you can drink? Start your day with a cup
of tea in the morning, one in the evening, and another cup a few hours before
dinner. Based on various researches, it was found that elder and middle-aged
Chinese women who drank tea had better bone health than those not taking the
beverage. These women also had reduced osteoporosis risk. So start drinking tea
for healthy bones.

Sardines

Eat more sardines because they are rich in Vitamin D and
calcium. They also have omega-3 fats to fight inflammation. Sardines are also
rich in proteins and keep your bones healthy.

Conclusion

Consult your doctor if you have poor bone health. Eat the right foods, exercise, and take medicines to reduce osteoporosis or bone resorption symptoms.
