Alternatively, you can also sign up for yoga, dancing, martial arts, or any other activity that you enjoy. Another good thing about this is that you’ll be working with a professional instructor, so you’ll have someone there to help you achieve your goals. Of course, it would also be a good idea to supplement these fitness classes with home workouts and with simply becoming more active overall—take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk instead of riding the bus, and try moving and standing instead of sitting all the time.

Go to your fridge and cupboard and start tossing out all the bad food that’s in there. All the cookies, chips, candy, soda cans, and any other processed junk should have no place in your home, so never even buy it in the first place. Here’s a tip to help you out with this: never go to the grocery store when you’re hungry. You’ll end up buying way more food than you need, and you’re more likely to reach for greasy snacks and sugar than for something that’s actually good for you.

Now that you’ve cleared your house of all that, you can start stocking up on veggies, fruit, oats, whole grain bread, hummus, fish, chicken, and other nutritious food. You can combine a healthy diet with some good weight loss drops to help your progress, so start eating clean as soon as you can. This is particularly important if your goal is to lose weight—exercise definitely helps, but the gist of weight loss is in simply eating fewer calories because you’ll never be able to out-exercise a bad diet. Try cooking as often as possible because that way you can make sure you always have something healthy on the table and you’ll know exactly what goes into the meal you’re eating. To help you accomplish this, do some meal prep—basically, you should cook big batches of food in advance so you wouldn’t have to spend every single day thinking about what to make and whether you have enough ingredients for it. Divide the food into plastic containers, chuck them in the fridge, and voila! Something to eat for tomorrow’s lunch.

Motivate yourself with your bathing suit

The most difficult part of weight loss is staying motivated every day. To help yourself, use a visual representation of your goals that you can look at every day by hanging up your bathing suit in your bedroom. Look at it every day and imagine yourself looking all sexy and beautiful when you wear it. Another thing you can do is simply use Pinterest or other social media for inspiration. Look at cute clothes that you want to wear when you shape up, look up healthy smoothie recipes, and enjoy creating your little goal-oriented board to keep yourself going. Don’t look at pictures of other women and models, though—that only creates unrealistic expectations and it’s not really about looking like someone else. It’s about you, being the best version of yourself.

Another great way to motivate yourself is to take progress pictures as you start your fitness journey. Sometimes it’s difficult to notice changes on ourselves, but snapping a picture every month or every two weeks will show you that your efforts are actually paying off! Keep it in a folder and use those pics to remind yourself that you can do this.

Remember, it’s much easier to start now and have slow but steady progress towards your goal, than to go on a crash diet and mess up your metabolism. Give yourself time to reach your goals, and you’ll thrive!
